Congratulations are in order for rapper/actor Ice-T. As previously reported by Gyantunplugged.com, Ice was in Sundance to promote his new documentary “Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap,” and made headlines for his candid opinion on today’s hip-hop scene.

But it seems the successful business has a major reason to celebrate as his new documentary was picked up for a worldwide release, which means “Something From Nothing” might be coming to a theater near you sometime this summer.

Per HipHopDx:

According to a press release, The Indomina Group, which is also producing a live-action version of Afro Samurai starring Samuel L. Jackson, will handle the global distribution of the film, with plans for theatrical release in the summer.

It was important to us to get with a company that has as much passion about Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap as we do and that company is Indomina. They are a fantastic partner and a great company. We look forward to working with them and releasing this film to the world.”

The film, described as “a performance documentary about the runaway juggernaut that is hip-hop,” features guest appearances from Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Chuck D, Snoop Dogg and more.
