Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers got a rude awakening when he battled it out on the court with the UTAH Jazz this weekend. Too bad ‘Jazz’ fans don’t have a problem with hitting a brutha below the belt.
If you didn’t know Byrant has been catching all sorts of hell over his contreversial photo spread. Personally, I think we’ll all have a greater appreciation for the pictorial spread in a few years.

Kobe Byrant has been catching hell these days on the blogs over a controversial photo shoot that has him looking like a gay Uncle Tom [damn what a throwback]. When I saw the pictures top of the week I was so disturbed that I wasn’t able to articulate my opinion in a clear defined way, so I opted not to say anything at all.
And it seems the stylist behind the shoot [James Valeri] is also feeling the backlash as they’ve just released a statement explaining what the hell everybody was thinking…
This was a prep look, but still unconventional. He’s wearing a shirt buttoned up with a bowtie, but we put a hat on and created a character. Kobe was amazing to work with because he was cool with everything. He trusted us. We took a picture and he liked it so we kept going. We wanted to do a picture with a hat because the photographer wanted to do everything in white. He’s a cool, young and successful athlete. I wanted to give a modern approach. I was thinking of [rapper] Tupac [Shakur] where I put a band underneath in the hat to make it look hip-hop, but … it translates in a surreal look where it creates a strong image. It was something that hasn’t been done before. It’s mixing the inspiration of Tupac and a gentleman with a white hat … a mix of a hip-hop and a conservative look.

Disgraced ballplayer Greg Olden is apologizing to his fans, family, team and the NBA over some recent nude shots that were disbursed throughout the world wide web yesterday.
I didn’t post the pics [which you find with a simple google search] because in the back of my mind I didn’t think anybody cared. I mean aren’t peen shots as about as common as DUI’s these days? Not that DUI’s are cool either, but its what it is.
Personally I’m over the apologizes and please for forgiveness. How about these stupid ass kids learn to simply don’t do it. Or if you do then why not remove your face and distinguishing body marks so that nobody can prove its you? But I digress.

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

Yet another public figure has become collateral damage of this faltering economy.
Former NBA star Latrell Sprewell will be losing his 3.3-acre mansion in Purchase, New York after failing to make mortgage payments on his $5.3 million estate. Apparently Sprewell is in the hole 1.6 million. And after failing to make payments since 2008, the banks have issued a foreclosure on the property.
This news comes just two years since Sprewell lost his 70-foot yacht due to defaulting on his loan.

Basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabar admitted to ABC’s “Good Morning America” that he suffering from Lukemia.
In a candid admission, Jabar told GMA that he’s been suffering from the disease for more then a year.
He was diagnosed in December with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia, or PH+CML, a rare cancer of the blood and bone marrow.

“We made a decision to release Larry Johnson from his contract,” Kansas City said head coach Todd Haley told a news conference on Monday.
“Over the last couple of weeks (general manager) Scott (Pioli) and I have expended a lot of time and energy, along with (board chairman) Clark Hunt, talking about this and figuring out the direction to go.
“We decided it was in the best interests of the Kansas City Chiefs organization to move forward. It was the totality of the situation and even before I was around here.”
Call me crazy, but with these hard economics times nobody can afford to lose their position..Period. Let Larry Johnson be the shinning example of how homophobia can result in your ass being thrown out on the street. LJ’s contract was reportedly worth 45 million dollars.
