Are we so desperate for media attention that we’re whoring ourselves out like hookers on the ho strow?

It was widely reported that Atlanta attorney Phaedra Parks was to replace one of the Atlanta Housewives from the hit Bravo Franchise this upcoming season. But its been revealed that Phaedra is not – nor was she ever- a contender to be on the show.

Wendy Williams just broke the news on her hit daytime talk show moments ago where she shared a story direct from Bravo mascot aka Senior Vice President of Original Programming’s Andy Cohen. Cohen says that the rumors surrounding Phaedra Park rumors are 100% false.

I for one am speechless! Parks business has been aired out all over the blogs, her husband Apollo Nida will now forever get the side-eye from EVERYBODY at parties, and the community. And after all that there’s no reality show in the works.

Let’s do the math here: Phaedra + her convicted felon hubby = Epic Fail.

Nelly Takes A Punch For His Security Team?

Nelly apparently took a punch right in the kisser or at least that’s what the NY Post is saying:

Rapper Nelly took a punch trying to break up a brawl between his bodyguards and bouncers at club Liv at Miami’s Fontainebleau Friday night. As Nelly was taking the stage at the pre-Super Bowl party attended by Jets Mark Sanchez and Braylon Edwards, “his security appeared to get into an argument with the hotel’s security staff,” said a source. “Nelly got in the middle and got punched by mistake. Then it spilled out of the back door and continued outside.” Reps for Nelly and the hotel didn’t get back to us.

God, I almost fell asleep writing this story. *Kanye Shrugs*

Mariah Carey Buckin’ At The Grammys?

Well if you believe the gossip rags. And we do.

Our modern-day-diva is said to be over the hype of the Grammy’s and is withdrawing her name from consideration for the next cycle of awards by releasing her album a day after the Grammy cutoff date.

According to the NY Daily News, MC’s reasoning behind the decision stems from her perception that the highly coveted award ceremony hasn’t given Mimi her respect.

“Mariah’s been shafted so many times before that it’s like a big ‘Kiss my butt’ to the Grammy folks,” says a music industry insider. “She doesn’t need the awards, because her career is already so successful.” [Source]

I can’t go in on MC this morning its way too early. I’m perplexed at the songstress’ notion that she doesn’t get her props. To date she’s earned five awards out of 21 nominations since 1991.

But don’t think that Mimi’s choice to withhold her album from this years Grammy’s signifies a behind the scenes scramble because apparently Carey is still busy adding more songs to her album, wanting the end result to be perfect.

I don’t know if I buy that one, but we’ll go with it for now.

The new push back date for “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” is Sept. 29. But don’t hold your breathe.

ATL Blog: Gucci Mane In Treatment Center Over Illegal Drugs??

Street rapper Gucci Mane has been a topic of discussion a lot here in ATL. His noticeable absence continues to have the streets talking about what’s what.

Rumor began to circulate a couple of weeks ago that Gucci was back in jail for violating his probation by testing positive for having drugs in his system [I'm gonna assume it was the celery].

Everyone from his camp is remaining very mum on Gucci’s sudden absence, which is saying a mouthful if you REALLY think about it.

But the new rumor on the street, courtesy of Mediatakeout.com, is that Gucci is in a drug rehab facility. The most inarticulate MC’s known to man has supposedly worked out a deal that includes him not going back to jail pending completion of said rehabilitation.

I’ve tried my best to remain mum on the whole Gucci debacle. He’s had more chances the Flavor Flav on “Flavor of Love” and dude still can’t seem to keep it together.

It’s too bad some of us can’t seem to see the bigger picture about life.

Free Gucci. Sigh.

Drake Goes In On Motown President Sylvia Rhone, Did She Really Threaten Drake With Legal Action To Get Him Signed?!?

While most music lovers tend to get all giddy about one’s beats or lyrics, I get my rocks off by learning about all the drama behind the scenes.

Motown President Sylvia Rhone is getting put on blast by Drake. Apparently while everyone was courting the young rap hopeful for a deal, Mrs. Rhone attempted a unique scare tactic that has officially offended Drake, and he’s got no problem telling us/the world about it.

XXLmag.com caught up with the Canadian actor-turned rapper recently, and he didn’t bite his tongue on his disdain for Motown and Sylvia, the details of his new deal, and who will probably end up executive producing his highly anticipated album.

Ciara’s new short due has sparked all kinda debates.

But never in a million years would I think that a A list, ok fine, B list…OK FINE, C list pop star would get herself caught up in some hood mess.

While everyone has been pondering if the former pop princess of Atlanta’s new cut is real or not, it seems Ci-Ci’s former stylist is coming out with some sharp accusations.

Shirlena Allen insists the singer’s hot new hairdo is all thanks to a wig Ciara has yet to return to her and apparently is still awaiting payment for her work on the singer’s image a year ago.

Now that’s ice cold and VERY HOOD.

Arguing about some synthetic hair? Really??

Was Covergirl Behind Chris Brown Being MIA at BET Awards??

Now that the horrible & embarrassing BET awards have come and gone, clarification is emerging regarding the absense of embattled star Chris Brown.

Days after being handed a light sentence for beating Rihanna’s ass, CB and his people attempted to reach out to BET to revive his career, pay his respect to a fallen American icon. However, I’m told BET said, “thanks, but no thanks.”

But according to my source[s], it seems that a BET sponsor is behind the pop star snub. Covergirl, which is Rihanna is a spokesperson,  allegedly put the kabash on CB hitting the BET stage.

The long standing cosmetics line was a major sponsor for this years shiteous awards. And from what I’m being told, higher-ups made it abundunatly clear that if Brown was apart of the show in any capacity they were pulling the plug.

Looks like at the end of the day money talks and bullshit walks, huh?

But don’t cry for Chris Brown Argentina, because I hear that MTV is tapping the pop star for a possible homage performance at this years VMA’s. And though I hate it, isn’t that really a better look at the end of the day?
