Plug Into The Scene: @BigBoi @Pill4180 @Mike_Bigga & More Celebrate #CrownLife in Atlanta!

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

Last week in Atlanta, Crown Royal – along with Outkasts Big Boi, Maybach Music’s Pill & Grind Time Officials Killer Mike– all came together to party and celebrate the launch of “The Crown Life,” a multi-layered campaign created to mark and celebrate life’s crowning moments. On the heels of the launch of new variant, Crown Royal BlackTM whiskey, Crown Royal has gathered influential designers, filmmakers, and legendary producer and artist Big Boi to release exclusive, limited-edition products and content. All artists and designers will be tasked with using their craft to create something that celebrates what “The Crown Life” means to them — finding royalty in everyday experiences.

Rapper, songwriter, and producer Big Boi has partnered with Crown Royal to develop unique content and put his own spin on the iconic Crown Royal bag. Cameras went behind the scenes to document Big Boi in compelling moments of his life and career that showcase his definition of “The Crown Life.” The short film will let audiences into Big Boi’s life as he performed at the 2011 Grammy Awards; inside his studio, Stankonia, as he prepares for his latest projects; and an evening out on the town in his hometown of Atlanta with stops at his favorite spots to unwind.

The party was epic to say the least. And thanks to Rebbecca over at Corner Stone I”ve got some visuals. See more pics below.

Plug Into The Scene: Big Boi, Mike Bigga, Nelly, Lance Gross & More Bowl For Atlanta Flood Victims!

Clearly I’m biased on this situation, but I can rise above the bullshit to focus on Atlanta flood victims.

Per Freddyo:

Last night Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, & V-103 join forces for a charity celebrity bowling tournament entitled, Atlanta Stand-Up. I have to say I was very moved by the turnout and support that was given to the event. JD and Nelly invited all their celebrity friends to come out to give their support and bowl, and they did just that. The Event was held at Red Carpet Lanes to raise money for the people effected by the flood in Georgia and companies like Hosea Feed The Hungry and Status Beverages gave

their all to help make the event a success … The event raised over $80,000, and money is still coming in … If you would like to donate call 404-755-3353… P.S. Compound Bowling Team Won, The game…

ATL Blog: RIP Killer Mike

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

killermikeipledge

Known to the world as “Killer Mike”, Mike Render has taken a bold step to separate himself from the status quo by changing his well-known street moniker to a much more socially responsibly – and marketable – name.

Killer [oops], Mike Bigga talked to hip hop site AHH to speak on his reasons for making the sudden move:

“I wanted to do it for a long time,” Mike Bigga, p/k/a Killer Mike told AllHipHop.com. “I read all the comments on AllHipHop and all the other sites. And I love how smart the hip-hop fans are and they say ‘Man, this guy is dope. Why he so slept on.’ Then, it always be a comment under there that be like ‘I don’t suppose the name Killer Mike be holding him back? You can’t get corporate sponsorship with that.’ (laughs)”

This is definitely a move in the right direction. Mr. Bigga is one of the nicest guys in rap music period! What you see is what you get- and to be honest – I never really got his name because Mr. Render is ANYTHING but a killer.

Props to Mike. Now if we can only rid of all the Lil’s and Young’s out there we’ll be straight.

Let the corporate sponsorships come in.
