Just moments after Howard University tried to play Mary J Blige by publicly denying that she’d been accepted to the prestigious Howard University, they immediately released a press release denying the story.
Well this is what Mary has to say about all the gossip.
At this point I can’t pay anymore attention to this story. Either somebody’s lying or Howard is trying to boost its admissions press a bit.
Mary J. Blige has just been caught with egg on her face. And so publicly might I add.
Just days after MJB announced that not only had she surprisingly gotten her High School diploma from the state of NYC, but that she was also headed Howard University.
But it seems that the Grammy award winner got a little bit too excited because Howard University is saying that its not the case.
The news seemed to catch Howard, the nation’s premier historically black university, by surprise. Early Tuesday, a rep for the school declined to address Blige’s prospects at the school, noting that information about applicants and admissions is confidential. By late in the day, the university put out a statement suggesting Blige’s comments may have been somewhat premature.
We encourage Ms. Blige to continue her studies and welcome her consideration of Howard University in the future. We are happy to work with Ms. Blige on completing the formal process for admission.
Damn Mary. Not only did you get dissed by Howard, but you got dissed publicly by the historically black university.
Mary J Blige is back with a new record with current it boy Trey Songz for a new song they call “Hood Love”. Personally, I’m confused because I could have sworn that back when singer/songwriter Johnta Austin was trying to make it as an artist — although I hear he’s trying it out again — Mary J and him had this record together.
Maybe I’m trippin, or maybe Johnta just said “f*ck it” and sold it. Either way I like it.

I know we all love her, but the progress of her new album, that’s gotten so many pushbacks I’ve given up until it actually crops, isn’t looking too good.
This past weekend, while performing at the Miami’s Jazz in the Gardens, soul singer Mary J Blige is said to have been a demanding diva, forcing organizers from the event into over time due to her antics.
Apparently MJB was an hour and half late to perform, and acted like she was Michelle Obama by refusing to get out her stretch limo until every member from the media was kicked out of the media tent:
“While she sat in her limousine, her personal guards came into the press tent to clear out the area like they were the Secret Service. They first demanded that all print and online journalists be kicked out because Mary didn’t want to take questions. They were acting like she was Michelle Obama or Queen Elizabeth.
When Mary finally emerged from her car, she walked into the tent for literally two minutes wearing dark shades – even though it was night time. She struck one pose and then walked off without bothering to say a single word. Her antics were extreme and unwarranted.”
I think Mary knows we all love her at this stage in the game, so to act like this is sooo not cool. I guess I should be thankful that I didn’t waste my time covering this event for GUTV.

Could Mary J Blige have gone too far? Reports are surfacing that MJB completely lost her shit over the Grammy weekend with her band right in front of Hollywood royalty like Barbra Streisand. Jane Fonda, Joan and Jackie Collins.
The evening saw Mary J Blige publicly humiliate her band in front of an audience that included recording industry titans and some of the biggest names in rock.
The singer lost her cool as, ironically, she was about to sing a song titled No More Drama.As the band struck up the number’s intro, she told the musicians to stop, waved her arms angrily and demanded: ‘Can we get the right music for Mary J Blige?’ She added: ‘Are we practicing still?’
The audience stared at her in disbelief as it is not considered the done thing to criticize your band – all top of the line professionals – at such an event. The room felt cool towards her during her set.
Personally, I remember how out of control MJB used to be so I don’t have a problem with a sporadic on stage meltdown. Lets just hope next time she learns to save it for after the concert.
You don’t wanna scare Babs and Jane Fonda. They are both crypt keepers in their own right. You gonna f*ck around and give em a heart attack.
Why nobody is talking about Whitney Houston’s crackish looking self at this years BET Top Honor’s is beyond me, but I can’t walk away from this free meal. Houston was one of the many who was honored by Mya, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Queen Latifah and a host of others in Washington DC over the weekend. Gyantunplugged.com was invited to partake in the festivities, but my inability to organize my email account caused me to miss out on this one *finger snap*
Anyway, while I’ve been sworn to secrecy about all the behind the scene antics, I can say that it’s clear that Whitney’s comeback was very short lived. The rumor mill already has “Mrs. Crack is Whack” back on the pipe. And, I hear Houston was looking to Ray-J when they used to kick it down in Miami and the result is whispers of a sex tape.
Anyway, you can clearly see from the image above that we all need to attach Bobby Brown’s former meal ticket to a prayer along the victims of Haiti.
