Lady Gaga took a rock star dive at the Semi Precious Weapons’ set at Lollapalooza 2010 in Chicago on Friday. But after being rescued by security, a nearly-nude Gaga jumped right back in, seeming to enjoy the groping from concertgoers.
Lady Gaga continues to spread her musical wings into the genre of hip-hop these days. Not only has she worked with the likes of Kid Cudi and Kanye West. But, now I hear she’s about to work with the Hip-Hop presidents Jay-Z and Dr. Dre.
Recently NMC leaked a brand new song featuring Dr. Dre and Jay-Z. It was called “Under Pressure”. Dre came out and said the track was unfinished (which I believe) but I am hearing that Lady Gaga will also appear on the track. (Yes you heard right!)
Now at the stage I’m gonna say this is a rumor because Dre or Interscope obviously won’t confirm it. And it does tie in with Dre talking about a more commercial and pop sound.
I have no opinion on this scoop, but it’s still great grist for the mill.
While I remain on the fence on the entire Gaga hoopla, that’s not stopping the pop star from dominating the game. Maybe its because she’s a carbon copy of Madonna, minus the sex appeal. Say what you will about Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, but she’s not a pretty girl.
Anyway, Gagaloo graces the new Rolling Stone magazine, and of course she’s saying something people deem profound.
“When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, ‘Bitch, you’re Lady Gaga, you get up and and walk the walk today.’” – Lady Gaga tells Rolling Stone.
While current music tastemaker Lady Gaga is getting tons of attention for her new outrageous video, it seems that not everyone is satisfied with L.G.’s and Beyonce’s collabo.
Musician Idia Irie took to her twitter page to vent her frustrations on Gaga’s lack of, “social responsibility”:
I agree gaga is being her image .. I dig her creative mind But still … There’s a such thing as socially irresponsible… I’m just sayin.
Its not long before somebody does a straight NAKED video. Not like Alanis morrisette “thank you india” like NAKED dancing around. LOL hahaha
Let’s be CLEAR! I know it gaga M.O. – I don’t live under a rock. And I get that a lot of work put into it. I’m talking social responsibility
There’s an artist ever 10 years who pushes the envelope … but its bout to fall off the Table. When is it too far?
I respect the creative mind but disagree with the “choices” as a dish meant to be served for mass consumption ..
Crazy to me that the Dark, underbelly, so shock at all cost thing is a TREND like asymmetrical hair and big shoulder jackets .Slippery slope!
Perhaps Arie’s twitter stance does hold merit, however the proverbial, “line,” has been pushed back so far that it might as well be non existent. It’s the sign of the times. Personally, I find it funny how hip-hop always takes the blame for destroying today’s youth.
CNN is finally addressing the fact that they totally eff’d up with their Sunday afternoon story that they in fact banned Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s new video “Telephone” because it was deemed to racy.
While nobody mentioned Gyantunplugged.com as being the blogger to bring the erroneous story to their attention, It’s nice to know that a bloggers power can be used for good.
Props to Tuma @MTV for assisting me in clearing the air.
GU.com reported that Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s video had pushed the envelope so much with their newest collabo “Telephone,” that MTV chose to ban the visuals. However, it seems that the worlds most trusted news organization got it COMPLETELY wrong, which was discovered when I posted a story on it Sunday night:
“MTV did not ban Lady Gaga and Beyoncé’s ‘Telephone’ video — in fact, we premiered it on Friday, March 12, on-air and online at MTV.com, two days before this story was falsely reported,” said MTV Executive Vice President of Music and Talent Amy Doyle. “Fans can continue to catch the video as we repeat it on-air and online.” Music videos generally air on MTV weekdays between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m.
It’s a good thing MTV cleared that up and quickly because that would have made the channel completely irrelevant. Hell, that video better win Best Video of The Year! It’s so weird it’s perfect for the award.
Hey whatever happened to video vanguard award. Props to Tuma at MTV Jamz for sending this over.
Update** Apparently CNN has gotten it ALL wrong. MTV Jamz posted the following message on their twitter page moments after I posted this blog. Read it here
MTV is proving that is no longer relevant when it comes to pushing the boundaries and cultivating pop stars.
The word has been handed down from the higher up’s that Lady GaGa’s new video “Telephone” featuring Beyonce will not air the reality based network. No reason has been handed down yet, but many feel the overtly sexual and provocative visuals are too much for its audience. It should be noted that ‘Telephone’ has garnered 13 million hits on youtube alone since hitting the web Thursday, March 11th.
This is particularly shocking seeing as though the Viacom owned channel was instrumental in developing the likes of Madonna, Salt & Peppa, and Britney Spears — all who’ve pushed the boundaries in their own right.
MTV has once again showed that they’re way too comfortable in their reality dominated programing to angry advertisers or demographics,
Check out the old broads at CNN argue what effect the ban will have on Beyonce’s squeaky clean image.
Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s much anticipated new visual collabo has dropped. It’s technically not supposed to drop until 11:30pm tonight, but you know how we bloggers do.
LaGaga addressed the rumors that she has a d*ck within seconds of the video, and definitely showed that she loves her..um diverse audience.
Personally, I wasn’t impressed. If anything I’m completely confused. I found myself perplexed by the all the lesbian action, Tyrese’s role was equally confusing.
But shoutout to the P*ssy Wagon homage from Quinton Tarantino “Kill Bill”.
