-Celebrity Spotting: Is Ja Rule Finished, Celebrities Diss His NYC Birthday Bash Including Irv Gotti??

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Anyone remember when Ja Rule was the prince of New York? Once an artist who dominated the charts and was working with virtually every top-tier artist in the game, now has to settle for reality stars and celebrities personal assistants to attend his party.

R.U.L.E. held his birthday party at club Quo in New York City, and though a ton of celebrity invites went out, I hear NOBODY showed up. Well, Ashanti did but that’s about it, and i hear she was in and out in all of ten minutes.

According to celebrity photographer Freddyo of Freddyo.com, Lil Mo, Lil Kim’s personal assistant Looch, and the girly looking dude from “Neffe & Frankie” were the only ones in attendance — minus the groupies and professional party crashers.

There’s even a rumor that Irv Gotti was there but didn’t want to take photo’s.

Damn you 50 Cent for successfully making one of hip-hops most memorable MC’s into its most  joke. RIP homie. For the record I’m still a DIE hard fan ever since you dropped “Put It On Me.”

Def Jam is about get honored – Hip-Hop style.

VH1′s popular ‘Hip-Hop Honor’s’ franchise is about to pay homage to the label that brought hip-hop to the masses as well as birth some legendary acts like LL Cool J and of course Jay-Z.

The music event will tape from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York, and air on VH1 on Tuesday, October 12 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.

VH1’s Hip Hop Honors 2009 celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Def Jam in a show filled with the stars of this venerable label, as well as funny, painful and inspiring stories from its most renowned creators. Hosting for the third time is “’30 Rock’s” Tracy Morgan.

This year, the music, the influence and the artists from Def Jam’s history past and present will be recognized through performances in collaboration with some of today’s hottest talent. Generations of hip hop will bridge the gap for one exceptional night to set it off with the original style and flavor that sparked and inspired the evolution of this now global music phenomenon.

Previous celebrations have honored hip hop luminaries who broke new ground and propelled the genre into the true cultural phenomenon that it has become. Last year’s honorees included Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Naughty by Nature, Slick Rick and Too $hort. And this years line is by far the most impressive to date.

Tracy Morgan returns as host and celebrating 25 Years of Def Jam will be performances by a superstar lineup including: DMX, Eminem, Fabolous, Gym Class Heroes, Ja Rule, Kid Rock, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Method Man, Onyx, Public Enemy, Redman, Rick Ross, Scarface, The Roots, Trey Songz, Warren G and Young Jeezy.

If you are a lover of real hip-hop music then this is the event to watch.
