The streets are a buzz about the sudden news that Waka Flacka, who just recently announced his split from mother and Manager Aunt Deb for Gucci’s new label, has just announced that he’s abandoning ship.
Of course everyone is publicly saying its all love between Gucci and Waka, but I’m sure it isn’t. Waka called into DJ Drama’s HOT 107.9 show to talk about it. Wacka didn’t say much, but it’s still interesting.

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010One of Atlanta’s most popular rappers was released from jail last night. Gucci Mane, who was sent to jail for violating his probation [again], exited the Fulton County jail under the cloak of night, and entered into the arms of his fans and loved ones.
The homie Thaddeus with Exclusiveaccess.net was front and center as Roderick [Gucci's government] thanked his legal counsel, record label and most importantly the fans.
And not to miss a beat, Gucci also talked about his career plans, which will include a new album by end of summer — tenativeliy titled the Appeal — Waka Flocka’s album, his group Brick squad, and a nationwide tour. Shawty Lo and DJ Holiday were also in the crowd.

Whatever is going on over there at Mizzay Entertainment needs to fixed promptly because all of Aunt Deb’s clients are walking away.
Just weeks after it was revealed that current “it” rapper Nicki Minaj was separating from the controversial management company, now Rahiem Shabazz is reporting that current jailed rapper Gucci Mane has announced me no longer reps Mizzay.
Today, it was formally announced that Gucci Mane will be President and CEO of Brick Squad 1017 Records. The imprint, through Warner Brothers/Aslyum, is home to Wacka Flocka Flame, OJ Da Juiceman and Brick Squad, a super-group of the trio (including Gucci).
This move marks the end of a relationship Gucci Mane has had with label, So Icey Entertainment, former management Mizay Entertainment and booking agent Hitt Afta Hitt Enterprises. The Atlanta rapper and his imprint will now be exclusively handled by First Avenue Management, with new business manager David Bolno, Managing Director at Nigro, Karlin, Segal, & Feldstein and top entertainment law firm Davis Shapiro Lewit & Hayes, LLP.
There had been several reports of illegally sold Gucci Mane verses as well as unfulfilled show bookings in the past year, perhaps a catalyst for the change.
“The rest of 2010 is going to be real major,” said Gucci Mane in a statement. “I’m taking control of all of my business properties and keeping the focus on my career, my music and my artists. All the pieces to the puzzle are finally in place and once I get home it’s Gucci time.”
Damn, how did Mizzay go from hot to not in a matter of weeks? I guess its like they say easy come easy go.

Look I don’t want to get involved but it seems Warner Bros music division has ignited a blog/website battle regarding their current incarcerated star Gucci Mane.
Apparently lawsuits are going out and WBR is allegedly DEMANDING that all blogs/sites remove any and all Gucci Mane music from their sites.
Thank GOD we here at GU.com drew our line in the sand the minute dude went to jail.
Crisis adverted. Well at least for us.

Gucci Mane’s mgmt is speaking about the rumors and innuendo’s being made against them over alleged fraud. In a statement posted on Allhiphop.com, Johnny Cabell River Danced all over the allegations by dropping $20 words and legal jargon.
Take a look:
“I am fully aware of the recent allegations which have been made about me and my company Hitt Afta Hitt Entertainment (HAH). I am a licensed and bonded entertainment booker and have been operating my company successfully for almost a decade,” Cabbell explained. “During my career, I have booked thousands upon thousands of shows and have worked with various promoters all over the country. I have maintained an impeccable track record and am operating within the confines of all applicable laws. I’ve always strived to do the best job I can possibly do and will continue to do that.” <read that again CAREFULLY!
He goes on to say:
“Due to the sensitive nature of the vicious accusations made against me, it raises some serious and potential legal issues, My legal counsel is advising me every step of the way with respect to how I handle this situation going forward. We’re prepared to fight the rumors and are dedicated to the challenge of restoring our goodwill and credibility within the industry.”
How about a simple, “these accusations are utter nonsense and I look forward to my day in court to prove that Ozone Magazine is nothing more then tabloid journalism,” or something to that effect.
All the careful wording and legal mumbo jumbo basically proves that something is going on.
While I’m no expert in the art of booking talent for shows, I suggest promoters steer clear of this industry hot potato until Cabell has his day in court, which I don’t see happening anytime soon. #imjustsayin.
It should be noted that if Johnny does clear himself of all charges, a post will immediately be posted to clear up all the speculation.

To those of you out there who are being managed by Johnny Cabbell and Debra Antney, you might want to go through your books because Kettle aka @JuliaBeverly is lashing out in the new edition of @OzoneMagazine over allegations of federal fraud.
Apparently Julia got aired out early this month by both Johnny and Debra over some shocking claims that I couldn’t even tell you about so don’t even bother asking me.
But anyway, Julia is lashing out the best way a journalist can – in a well written but lethal article that exposes both legendarily shady, “music veterans”.
