Kiddunot.com was on hand last night as Luda Day Weekend continued to take over the city. And apparently you just cant do that unless you make a pit stop through that damn Alex Gideon’s Velvet Room.

We all know the Gyant doesn’t do anything AG so while I was at home watching Showtime’s, “The Big C” Kodak and his crew were poppin bottles with the likes of Chris Brown and Lil Kim. Check the funny video above of Chris — not Luda– having a good time being a kid again.

Plug Into The Scene: @TowerATL Honors @Ludacris Foundation W/ 10k Check At Doraville Grand Opening!

The homie Ludacris is everywhere this weekend. Not only is he successfully holding down the party of the holiday weekend out of ATL, but he’s also simultaneously partying it up with a purpose.

I was on hand, though late, at the rapping and acting homie’s ATL Towers store opening in Doraville, GA over the weekend where he was honored with a 10k check benefiting the Ludacris Foundation.

Luda and his DTP team were truly humbled by the dollar amount given, and Luda wasted no time taking photo’s with all his fans and Towers ATL executives.

I will be posting my live blog shots from the weekend tomorrow, but in the meantime enjoy some shots taken by Kingsmen Media Group.

Gotta luv them zero’s especially the ones that goes to such a good cause by Ludacris foundation.

It wouldn’t be a party unless Conjure Cognac was in the building, right?

The streets are a buzz about the sudden news that Waka Flacka, who just recently announced his split from mother and Manager Aunt Deb for Gucci’s new label, has just announced that he’s abandoning ship.

Of course everyone is publicly saying its all love between Gucci and Waka, but I’m sure it isn’t. Waka called into DJ Drama’s HOT 107.9 show to talk about it. Wacka didn’t say much, but it’s still interesting.

ATL Blog: Lisa Wu Hartwells Says “Dueces” To Real Housewife Show!

While I realize this may be old information, I don’t keep up with the Atlanta Housewives. According to the homie Freddy over at Freddyo.com, after much speculation, Lisa Wu-Hartell, and her husband Eddie will not be apart of the any future “Real Housewives of Atlanta” after season three. And, I hear, Lisa didn’t participate in much of the episodes this time around.

In insider says Hartwell decided to leave the show over “creative differences,” explaining, “They basically wanted to script elements of Lisa’s life and make her amp up the drama. She wasn’t with that at all.”

The source adds, “Lisa felt like if her real life alone wasn’t enough for the network, then maybe it was time for her to go.” Hartwell will be included in “as many as three” episodes, but will not take part in any photos or opening visuals. A source adds, “The part where the ladies hold the peaches when the show opens up, she didn’t participate in that shoot.”

Again, I don’t watch the show, so this bit of news is like telling me an famous Opera singer is leaving the game.

Couple Scoop: @MonicaMyLife & @MainoHustleHard Officially Boo’d Up?

Let me find out singer, and Atlanta native, Monica has been getting it in with Atlantic Records Maino.

Initially when pictures emerged of the two on the set of her new music video, it was assumed she and the bad boy of hip hop were just friends and colleagues.

However, now after Atlantic records just sent me over these pictures of Mo and Maino [awww how cute, I just got their matching names], canoodling together at TI and Tiny’s Miami wedding, its clear that they’re a couple. You know Monica love them bad boys.

There’s no additional info on exactly what it is they’re doing. Normally I’d write this one off as a publicity stunt, but knowing Monica, and her desire to keep it real — ALWAYS. I’m believing what these two are selling.

Sorry Rocko. It’s OK. You’ll find someone special again too one day.

ATL Blog: @Tip Honors K.I.N.G. Camp Graduates W/ New Laptops!

In the spirit of posting the bad, as well as the good, Grand Hustle’s T.I. was getting his philanthropy on last night as the arguable King of the south honored a gang –wait, that verb doesn’t seem appropriate–  a group of young black kids from the inner city with a ceremony for completing a summer camp program titled “K.I.N.G. Camp”

Per Freddyo.com:

The awards included accolades in conduct, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic achievement. Ambassodor Andrew Young and Mayor of Atlanta Kasim Reed were also present. The idea of the camp was to take the kids from their current mind frames to future leaders in the community. After completing a 12 week summer camp, all the campers received certificates and laptops as a gift from T.I.P.

Shouts to you Tip. You know I take my jabs, but at the end of the day the kids are the future, so for you to recognize it says alot about ones character. Good job, sir!

It’s being reported that Usher is prepping a new album. Apparently he’s moving on from “Papers” after only a few shorts months.

Per Roc 4 Life:

On August 24th Usher is set to release a new album of 9 songs that feature Jay-Z, Ciara, Bun B, Justin Beiber, and Pit Bull. Hoping to garner the same success he did with ‘Raymond vs Raymond’, ‘Versus’ is pretty much a continuation of that. The first official single “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” has already started to make it’s way up the charts. Usher is on fire right now, gotta respect the man’s “On To The Next” hustle.

ATL Blog: Atlanta Metro On “Ticket Frenzy” List Starting August 1st?

If you live in Atlanta and the heat isn’t an excuse for you to stay off the roads, this bit of information should definitely keep that ass in the house.

According to various national media outlets, state police are launching a 30 ticket frenzy in several states and GA is at the top of its list. This according to a new email that’s been circulating.

“Starting Aug 1, Georgia will launch a 30 day speeding ticket frenzy,” the email reads. “The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be generated in speeding tickets. 1 million will go to pay state troopers’ overtime. The rest to help with dwindling budgets.”

Local media confirmed the “ticket frenzy,” the email claims. It adds: “Look for city and county governments to adopt similar polices in the near future.”

The email also claims that “50 state troopers (will be) on duty at all times patrolling the 7 main intersections and highways” and that “every state trooper is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 to 20 minutes.” In addition to “30 brand new unmarked Dodge Charger Police cruisers,” authorities “are bringing in all of their part time.

According to the Examainer.com, this email has been a proven hoax, but I’m sorry when it comes to the police, I don’t even want to chance it. DRIVE SAFE!
