I don’t know where I was when this story broke, but I’m just hearing about it now. R&B Crooner, and Atlanta resident Ne-Yo, has had it with the gay jokes/accusations.
In a recent interview, the multiple Grammy award winning singer/songwriter went on the defensive [though some would argue the offensive], over supposed accusations that he’s nothing more then one big Mo.
“There’s one rumor that just, for whatever reason, will not die and I’m convinced that it’s just because they really can’t figure out anything else to say about me, which kind of doesn’t make any sense because if you really just wanted to talk bad about me you could. But there’s this whole gay thing that keeps following me around.
Apparently, I’m gay. Pretty much anybody that sings and has a penis is gay. So, I’m part of that elite squad according to multiple blog sites. I guess it’s because I never shot a person or talked about shooting a person or had a desire to shoot a person that I’m gay.” [Listen to Audio Here]
Thou protest too much, sir. I haven’t heard any gay rumors on Ne-Yo. I mean sure, we all gave him the side-eye initially [ESPECIALLY AFTER "GO GO" REARED IT'S UGLY HEAD], but there hasn’t been a whisper of a thrill — at least in my entertainment circle — in years. The gays, I hear, don’t want him, but don’t quote me.
Though I’ve never seen Ne-Yo in anything remotely homo [and believe you me my nosy blogging self has closely observed him from afar at more then a few events in hopes getting that exclusive] , I have witnessed a fate worse then the gay rumors. People aren’t talking about him at all.
I almost never hear the songwriting genius name come up in entertainment, or the blogs. Can he get on the cover of Rolling Stone, Vibe or People magazine?
I think good ole Shaffer needs to absorb the fact that in this superficial entertainment industry, the ladies..um and the gays, simply aren’t interested in anything he’s got going on outside of the music. Oh we fux with the music Ne-Yo.
It’s hopeless situation, but I’m sure his endless amounts of cash makes up for it. I know it would for me. So please save your tears for good ole Ne-Yo and his “gay” problem.
