The vicious attack of Brandon White in the SW part of Atlanta has captured national attention. And as a result 2 of the 3 assaliants have been ID’d according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
We’ve identified two of the three individuals, and we’re working on warrants,” Turner said Thursday night at an emergency public safety meeting organized by the Pittsburgh Community Improvement Association.
More than 70 people were at the meeting to discuss solutions for what they see as a problem with crime and violence that centers around the store at 1029 McDaniel Street, where Brandon White was beaten.
White’s attackers yelled anti-gay slurs during the beating Saturday. The video of the beating was posted online and had gone viral.
“I shouldn’t have to look over my shoulder just because I’m gay,” White told reporters during a news conference Wednesday. “Who’s to say they won’t try to come after me again? Who can say they won’t try to kill me?”
My hope is that ignorant and violent people of the world take heed to extreme punishment that’s headed in the assailants direction. Violence is never the answer. And while we focus so much on or differences we all need to learn that we are more alike then we can ever be different.
