I turned in my 50 Cent fan club card years ago. The bullying, out of bound jabs and high-octane antics proved to be a little too much for me. And judging by the bad boy of hip-hop’s first week sales of his new album, “Before I Self Destruct,” Curtis Jackson is projected to be his worst sales to date.
Before I Self Destruct, is projected to sell 150,00 to 160,000 in its first week on the shelves.
If the estimations are correct, this will be the lowest debut week for the G-Unit general. 50 sold 872,000 copies of Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in 2002. In 2004, his sophomore album, The Massacre, rang up over 1.15 million discs and his latest LP Curtis moved close to 695,000 units.
I’ve been trying to tell ya’ll for almost a year now that Curtis is done. His marketing gimmick became too transparent. He over saturated himself in the game and just bullied way too many people.
But don’t cry for Fiddy Argentina, because he’s still got a phat bank account, a popular internet site and has been reunited by his old girl, Vivica.
Perhaps these shabby numbers will result in the G-Unit leader to sit his ass down somewhere.
