Last night I got a call from one of my favs in the game Marcy Polanco over at BET offering me the chance to do a phoner interview BET’s 106 & Park’s Terrence and Rocsi -or was it AJ & Free I forget? Anyway I passed because I don’t do audio interviews, however after reading Necole Bitchie’s site it looks like I should have.
We all remember the devastation that ensued when AJ and Free were unceremoniously replaced by prepubescent twelve year-old’s that we have blossomed into still prepubescent twelve year-old’s.
Anyway checkout what Free and AJ revealed in a rare interview:
Free recalled the day that AJ called her with the news that he would be leaving.
I just knew when he called me..when I heard his voice that something wasn’t right. I remember just looking at A.J’s face and falling on my knees because I knew he was about to cry.
AJ chimed in
Wow, that day is kind of crazy. There were some new people brought in, we couldn’t see eye to eye …..and it was a point in my life where I had transcended from a boy to a man ….and I knew that it was time to walk away. I rejoined my church, and at that time, I fostered a very deep relationship with my pastor at that time and a lot of different things just came at me….and I knew it was time for a change.
Free was very vague on the reason she left but she did admit it bothered her that people thought she had been fired.
I decided to leave 106 & Park myself. I decided that my ceiling had been met. I didn’t sign my contract and no one believed that I didn’t sign my contract….. they thought it was about money. It was a very hard decision to leave but I decided that I wanted to and I did.
I felt like I didn’t have to explain to anybody because it was a choice for me but at the same time, I wasn’t thinking about the fans. …like I should’ve been. And I was a little upset like the picture was painted as if I got fired…I wasn’t getting enough money, you know I’ve never had those problems with B.E.T.
Well at least we know what went down. I still say bring em back. 106 has never been the same.
Nicki Minaj has officialy jumped on Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair”. I don’t know how I feel about such a brash and potty mouthed rapper like Nicki infiltrating the squeaky clean track aimed at today’s youth.
The Roc Nation signee and daughter of Will and Jada-Pinkett Smith is said to be putting the finishing touches on the video dropping soon.
Damn y’all coming for Chingy hard with these gay/tranny rumors aren’t cha?
People have been emailing asking me why I’m not commenting about former DTP member Chingy and the rumor that he’s getting it in with some tranny groupie.
While everybody knows im quite facinated with the taboo subject of who’s hip hop and homosexuality — and that’s only because its real and going down crazy behind the scenes with some of your favorite hyper-masculine thugs — I find chasing Howard aka Chingy through the town with a pink pitchfork to be quite boring.
Anyway, listen to Chingy explain to a random media outlet that he’s not gay for the upteenth time.
Can we let that man please. Maybe when he’s got a hit record I’ll give this more clout. Until then.. On to the next one.
Well I’ll be damned! Former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland can actually sing. Don’t misunderstand me, I’ve always known that she had a voice, but nobody told me she could SANG!
Listen above to a fresh face Kelly getting her Mary J Blige inspired scraf, ala Aretha Franklin on, as she belts out our nations song with pride, eagerness and a dash of soul [god, why do I sound like an infomercial to a TIME Magazine CD collection for Michael Bolton?].
Something tells me Ms. Rowlad is about to make things interesting. Sources say Kelly was chopping it up with songwriter Nate Walka [you know, the dude from "Blame It," and "Say Ah" hooks] over the weekend.
The bullying in this country is getting out of control. What was once a dark time in our lives of this country for African-Americans, is reemerging at a rampant pace for today’s young gay youth.
Listen to TV talk show host Wendy Williams tell you all out there that, “It Gets Better”.
We don’t have to agree on who ya sleep with. But I think we can all agree that harassment helps n0 one.
Listen I’m not a big gamer. In fact the last time I played a damn video game I think I was somewhere drunk getting my ass handed to me in a bitter battle of “Halo”.
However, I know that all the sports nut eagerness for the upcoming basketball season is going ape shit over the newly released NBA 2K11.And what kind of guy what I be if I didn’t hook you all up with some exclusive, exclusive material about it.
