Plug Into The Scene: ONE MusicFest “State of the Atlanta Music Scene” Press Conference & Roundtable

(Mountain Dew, Ford, Miller Lite, SolFusion ) presented ONE MusicFest to the City of Atlanta on Thursday, July 21, 2011 during the “State of the Atlanta Music Scene” Press Conference and Roundtable. ONE MusicFest is an intimate indoor/outdoor music festival that will showcase performances from over a dozen artists.

On Thursday July 21, 2011 ONE MusicFest was officially recognized with a Welcome letter from Mayor Kasim Reed presented by his Senior Communications Specialist, Justin Tanner.

This took place at the ONE MusicFest “State of the Atlanta Music Scene” Press conference and Roundtable at Park Tavern, which will also serve as the location for this year’s ONE MusicFest on August 27, 2011. Saniyyah Griffin served as the panel moderator. Dantes Rameau, from ONE MusicFest 2011′s official non-profit partner, The Atlanta Music Project came and discussed this year’s music instrument drive taking place at the festival. ONE Musicfest featured artist and, panelist Anthony David captivated the crowd with a special live performance.“There is a lack of representation for soul, progressive hip-hop, alternative and rock, represented under one roof, in the format of music festivals in Atlanta. We have noticed that while there are many pockets of individuals that share taste in the same music, rarely do you see them share in this together. ONE MusicFest was created with the idea of music as the universal language. Over time we aim to grow this fest into a phenomenon and bring together different sectors of individuals through a unique music platform,” stated J Carter, SolFusion Founder and ONE MusicFest Producer.

TV,  and publishing powerhouse, Oprah Winfrey confirms to Gyantunplugged that she will be present for a very special Atlanta event! Winfrey reached out to our ‘little engine that could” blog through twitter to confirm her rumored presence at this special event on Oct 15th, 2011 after we inquired. We also asked if there was a chance Atlanta would also garner an appearance from of EP of the, “Oprah Winfrey Show,” Sheri Salata, who as you can see, Oprah commits to an inquiry.

Polow Da Don held his 4th Annual Celebration 4 A Cause fashion over the weekend. I wasn’t there — for obvious reasons– but Exclusiveaccess.net was and here’s what they had to say:

Polow da Don and several tastemakers gathered together on Friday, July 15th to support the 4th Annual Celebration 4 A Cause fashion show as a part of the Focus 4 Life campaign to benefit American Cancer Society. The scene was set at
Atlanta’s Mason Murer Fine Art Gallery as esteemed designers including, Kevan Hall, MATAANO, Tian Justman, Man vs. Machine, SACHIKA, Sammy B., True Religion, Fli Pelican, J. Loren, Reco Chapple, accessories by Coco & Breezy presented their latest apparel.The lovely Bevy Smith, known for her work as a fashion stylist and writer, served as host for the evening, while Grammy Award Winning Gospel recording artists, Mary Mary, Stage Ready dancers, and rising stars, The Baily Sisters (Chloe & Hailey Bailey), inspired the audience with special performances. D. Woods (formerly of Danity Kane), Dondria (So So Def recording artist) and Mishon (co-star of Lincoln Heights and R&B recording artist) lent their support by participating as celebrity models.

Devyne Stephens was honored with the Focus on Community Award, 20 year music industry veteran, Shanti Das, was honored with the Focus on Music Award, model and Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Cynthia Bailey, was honored
with the Focus on Fashion Award, and designer Tian Justman (also a three-time cancer survivor) was honored with the Focus 4 Life Award. All of the honorees listed either knew-of or themselves were affected by cancer in some way…

Couple Alert: @TraceeEllisRoss & @BuKonvict See Arguging At Atlanta-Area Hotel!

You guys know I have spies everywhere. So when I got a tip that former “Girlfriends” star Trace Ellis Ross and Def Jam executive Bu were spotted a lavish hotel in Midown, Atlanta I knew I had to tell you all.

It seems Monday night the daughter of Dianna Ross and the brother of Akon got into a heated argument over an incident involving Trace’s dog.

Here’s what my spy had to say:

Soooo Tracy Ellis Ross was arguging with Akon’s lil bro outside [hotel named removed]. He kicked her dog, she spazzed out. He rushed to his white panorama and sped off. They say she dating him now.

He was in a white shirt and black jeans. She had on sweats and a t-shirt and hoody. Her hair was in a bun and she had on sneakers. Yea it was one of those late night visits.

Could these two be getting it hot and heavy and just slipped up by publicizing their drama? Who knows. But I tell ya one thing these two would be a cute couple — and would probably have one beautiful ass baby. [OK that last part was a low blow.]

This stop on the Rolling Papers Tour bought Big Sean & Wiz Kahlifa to The Masquerade in Atlanta where they preformed to packed crowd outside.

Shouts to Cannon over at Atlantic Records for the great tickets to attend. We couldn’t make it, but we heard it was incredible. Plus, seeing as though Masquerade is only blocks from the Gyantunplugged headquarters, we heard a lot of it while we worked.

Artist Spotlight: @AsiaBryant Gets Sexy & Sultry For New Video “If You Love Me”

Shouts to the beautiful brown sister the world is discovering to know as Asia Bryant. Often times considered to be a, “breathe of fresh air,” Bryant is hard at work promoting her brand new EP, “Analog Girl Digital World.”

As previously reported by Gyantunplugged, Asia is rapidly making a serious name for herself in the Atlanta, GA area and beyond. Naturally we were the first to show Asia some love. But it’s definitely warming our hearts to see her gaining momentum in the world of music.

The Charleston SC native is back with a brand new video from the now released EP project. In the video you can see Asia show a much more sexier side. I mean the boobs alone had me foaming at that mouth –and that’s saying a lot given my genetics.

ATL Blog: @NeNeLeakes Son Bryson Arrested For Shoplifting

Reality star NeNe Leakes is facing yet another family embarrassment at the hands of her son Bryson Bryant. According to reports, Bryson was arrested last night in Atlanta-area attempting to swipe some swag for the free.

Gwinnett County officials say, Bryant was charged with shoplifting and a probation violation around 9 PM local time last night.

SMH. I just don’t know what to say about this young man. He doesn’t even attempt to appear like a productive member of society. Some could argue he’s just young and rambunctious. I’d argue if he doesn’t find the path back to  the straight and narrow soon, bigger problems are on the home-front.

ATL Blog: Gucci Mane HAS NOT Been Relased From Jail, Despite False Reports of Stripper Club Appearance!

While most of the hip-hop blogs are reporting that Gucci Mane celebrated his release from a three-month stint in a Fulton County jail, it appears Gucci is still behind bars.

Stories erupted earlier today that Atlanta — and much of the worlds– most notorious MC partied into the wee hours of the morning celebrating the new release of “Writing on the Walls 2″ with DJ Holiday. But it seems that its not the ease.

Per MTV:

Gucci was expected to be released yesterday, according to his lawyer Ashutosh Joshi, but it seems that “procedural holdups” prevented that from happening. MTV News also learned that there is currently a hold on Gucci’s release and a possibility that once he is freed from Fulton County Jail that he would be sent up to a state prison. The rapper’s lawyer however says that once this issue is resolved Gucc will be free man.
