I have been trying my BEST to stay out of this whole Nas and Kelis situation, but if the chicken head insists on trying to blast Nas I find it my duty to inform the people.
As well know Kelis is demanding that Nas open his wallet and take care of her and their unborn love child. The milkshakae singer also took to her twitter page in an attemept to either one of the illest MC’s in the gamem but not so fast becuase Nas has a set of claims of his own.
According to the San Fransisco Chronicle, Nasir Jones is firing back at his estranged wife. According to him, Kelis guesstimation on Nas finances is way off.
In her court papers, Kelis alleged Nas pocketed $11 million from his 2006 album deal with Def Jam Records as justification for her request for a big money deal. But Nas claims he made just a fraction of that figure, stating, “I did not receive even half that amount,” revealing his payment was closer to $4 million.
The hip-hop star also declared his monthly income was in decline and he is currently earning $147,165, with his own expenses mounting to $71,371.96 each month.
It looks like we have quite the conadrum, either Kelis is getting real greasy by airing out Nas’ pvt fiancial information, or Nas is trying to stash some cash so that his jumpoff turned wife doesn’t get much from his empire.
Personally I find it difficult to beleive that Nas only earned 4 million from his deal though. i mean either Def Jam aint paying like they used to, or they never were paying to begin with and Nas is just a victim of sloppy ass publicist.
Either way, it’s entetaining.
Kelis needs to get a damn job! Point, blank, period.
