In response to this bullsh*t.
Dear Tameka,
You don’t know me. We have met a few times in passing. And while I’ve never really had a real opinion on all your ish, your “piece” on, ““She’s Pretty For a Dark Skinned Girl,” was truly one of the most upsetting and unfocused stories I’ve seen all week.
I won’t pretend to know Tameka, “the person,” I only know Tameka, “the punching bag.”
Do you really think that people, particularly African-American women, discount you because of your skin color?? I trust that a women of your age would have to know better.
Call me an asshole, but couldn’t the reason[s] for such disdain stem from YOU? No disrespect, but could it be because you were creeping around with Usher while you were still married? Or maybe it had to due with the perception that you were behind Usher firing his mother [I know better, but again "perception".]
And couldn’t all the legal notices your firing off at any site or blogger that posts your test shot from photographer Derek Blanks have a hand in some of the hate?
And let’s not forget your near death experience over in Brazil where you damn near went into cardiac arrest to “enhance” your beauty.
The fact that you take such a serious issue in the black community and tweak it to paint yourself as a victim is simply disgusting.
Perhaps I need to get my eyes checked, but Chilli wasn’t a light skinned chick in any capacity and EVERYBODY was pumping their fists for her and your soon to be ex-husband. And even to this day she is loved by everyone. Do you know what that’s called, it’s confidence, a strong sense of self and unwavering ability to quiet the noise. Perhaps you should try to befriend he to ascertain how its done.
At the end of the day you must look inside yourself and become comfortable with who you are before anybody else can every begin to accept you. And if you really think that you are, I suggest you obtain a mental therapist.
And after spending a few moments up in your head via your rant, Usher’s sudden, but not all that surprising, move to separate himself from you comes with a bit more clarity.
In conclusion, allow me to offer up some heart felt advice. Go back to obscurity. You’re not cut out to be a public figure. You care WAY too much what people think about you. And while I can appreciate the attempt at discussing, “rooted intra-racial contempt” discussions, it becomes offensive when your ulterior motives are so obvious.
Remember that you are a mother who needs to get your inner demons dealt with if the future – aka your kids – have a fighting chance at battling peer pressure and self-esteem issues in their lives.

just my two cents…Chili is a pretty girl, Chili is a star….but Tameka is not what a lot of folks ‘think’ has the image to be married to a superstar like Usher…and part of that IS the color, let’s be real…folks in the black community can be ignant as hell…and then the fact that she was able to pull Ush while a lot of chicks feel they look better but couldn’t do it, makes them angry and bitter…so Tameka was already up against the 8 ball when the whole thing began…black women HATE black women, the majority of them do at least, now that’s keeping it 100….some women criticizing her got WAY more skeletons and dirt but yet she’s the antichrist for jumping out of one relationship for a better one, and Usher on the other hand is deemed innocent when it’s clear it takes 2 to tango…now she might need to fade into the background and just live her life cause there ain’t nothing she can ever do to combat the hate. It’s a hard world and nobody is happy for nobody’s success.

THANK YOU!!!!! I am so glad that somebody finally said what needed to be said.She has issues and they start with her being darkskin. Move on!! The fact that people don’t like you has nothing to do with your skin color. Take a look at yourself on the inside and chill out. Stop pushing the issue so much.
Loving the open letter but I dont know why blogsites even bother posting about the likes of Tameka, bottom line is,if no one shows her love she will go away.
It was clear from day one that this chick has isuses, so for the life of me I cant figure out why usher even went there. More so b/c she worked for him for years and they were creeping together. So he knew what she was all about from day one.
I still think all what Tameka’s going on with is part of the deal she made with her so called soon to be ex-husband. B/c anythings possible with these two, nothing adds up. The timing of Ush last album and all that transpired lead-up and after, to them being seperated for a year but only being married less than 2 years. It really would’nt suprise me if Tameka gets her reality show, book deal, clothing line etc. Usher gets his so called swagger back = returning fans, releases album (attempts to top confessions) and then Ushmeka reconcile. Having milked it. Only time will tell.
I say dont give neither of them any shine. Anyone would think their broke.
Usher should no better it worked with confessions but not with HIS and someting tells me it wont work with his new project. You can’t do buisness with a hood rat and lets face it thats all she is.
