Atlanta rapper – turned overnight sensation– BoB clearly has a reason to celebrate. Per his mgmt team the “Nothing On You” star will have the number one album next week on Billboards top 200.

Personally I’m still debating how I feel about the project. After watching the reclusive MC’s plight for so long I’ve got so much free BOB music I’m in no rush to run to the store to ‘cop that disc’. Add that to the fact I can’t seem to get him for GUTV, nor get any ad $$ thrown my way when GU.com has been such a strong supporter of BOB’s initial movement, and you can understand why I’m “Eh” about the project.

According to TJChapman.com, the Lupe/Andree 3000 inspired lyricist is poised to sell a meager 85k units its first week. Not too shabby in today’s music industry, yet it’s still far from what the industry would call a “commercial success.”

Could “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” be the slow to burn to project that propels itself to certified gold? Who’s to say. But at least he can say he’s got a number one album. No matter what may come of it.

Sidebar, you know Charles Hamilton is somewhere in the world on the verge of tears.
