My most favorite song from 112 was hands down “Anywhere”. So u can imagine my joy when publicist to the stars Syreta Ogelsby sent me over Q’s new song “Yes,” which sends me back in time.
Following a successful series of autograph signings and a stellar performance in the McDonald’s Superlounge at the 2012 ESSENCE Music Festival, Q Parker recently reunited with his fellow 112 band members performing on-stage together for select dates for the first time in more than six years. Q’s other recent promotional touring efforts have found him performing on the same lineup as other popular artists including Brandy, Faith Evans, Dru Hill and Jagged Edge. Q Parker has made a strong re-introduction to the music scene with the success of his first single, “Show You How” which has been amongst one of the Top 25 highest ranked records on various Urban Adult Contemporary charts for more than 23 weeks.
Immediately attaining a strong buzz, “YES” is fresh off the heels of earning the distinction as the #1 of most added song at Urban AC radio. Produced by Dwayne Nesmith of the legendary Cornaboyz production squad (Usher, Ne-Yo, Mario, Omarion), written by Elijah “Redd Stylez” Blake (Usher, Trey Songz) and co-written by Q Parker (Keyshia Cole, Tyrese, Kelly Price, Faith Evans, Pink, 112), “YES” returns Q back to the sultry, melodic and catchy roots reminiscent of 112 hits such as “Anywhere” and “U Already Know.” Early supporters of “YES” include flagship R&B radio stations such as KJLH in Los Angeles, WDAS in Philadelphia and WHUR in Washington, DC.
Listen – Yes (I wonder if he can hit that falsetto live?)
